Rumor: Galaxy S7 to Feature Curvier Design

The next big thing to happen in the Android World is the upcoming flagship from South Korean giant Samsung, the Galaxy S7. The company did a great job by reinventing its design language with last year models – most notably the Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+ – and a recent tweet published by Twitter leaker OnLeaks provides additional information on how much curved the device is going to be. The Galaxy Note 5 has a flat display but its back resembles the edge variants, as the slate has curves on both left and right sides. According to the rumor, the Galaxy S7 will not only have the feature on the sides, but also on the top and bottom areas. The curve won’t be extravagantly noticeable, as you can see in the image at the end of the article, and instead seems to be a subtle and delicate shape. Additionally, the “camera bump” will have only a fraction of the current models, and it can also be seen on the image.

Samsung is expected to come in hot where specs are concerned, with recently leaked information from benchmark tests revealing that the phones will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor and some variants by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 CPU, coupled with 3 or 4 GB of RAM. While the battery won’t be removable, Samsung put a lot more juice in it and the Galaxy S7 will come with 3,000 mAh. As far as the screen sizes are concerned, most sources suggest the regular Galaxy S7 will feature 5.1-inches while the Galaxy S7 Edge will have a come at 5.5 inches, with both Super AMOLED displays having a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Additional interesting features include a “3D Touch-like” functionality, waterproofing and external storage support, which were sorely missed on last year’s flagship devices. A 12-megapixel BRITECELL camera on the back with sensors optimized for low-light conditions complete the package

The rumored release date for the new flagship from Samsung is February 21, during the company’s Unpacked event which takes place during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The date is right around the corner and it shouldn’t take long for us to finally know for sure what Samsung has in the works, so stay tuned for more news.
