Last week, leaker Evan Blass showed everyone what the front of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge would look like. And now he’s back with some new renders for both devices. And this time we’re seeing the back side as well as the size of the two models next to each other. Now in these press renders before, we did see that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge would be different sizes, but you can definitely tell it from the back now. With the Galaxy S7 Edge to be a bit bigger than the Galaxy S7, it looks like the Galaxy S6 Edge+ successor is the Galaxy S7 Edge, which is appropriate. The larger Edge model definitely did do better last year, and it appears that Samsung saw that as well.
There’s not much to see on the back. You see the names of the devices, along with the camera – which is square with rounded corners, a bit reminiscent of the HTC One M9. It also does look like it protrudes at all this time around. That should keep people happy, although we haven’t seen the device from the sides just yet, so we’ll have to wait and see. The heart rate monitor and flash are on the right side of the camera as well. And that’s really about it. There’s something about these renders that says the back may not be made of glass, but of some other material. Of course, that isn’t confirmed, so we’ll have to wait until Unpacked takes place to know fore sure.
Samsung Unpacked is slated for February 21st in Barcelona. With a 7pm CET start time. That’s roughly around 1pm EST here in the US. We’re expecting to see Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but there is also a rumor that Samsung might be debuting a 360-degree camera that can be used for shooting VR video. That camera would definitely go well with their Gear VR viewer, which has been said to be one of the best headsets available for viewing VR. Not to mention, one of the cheaper ones.
