Samsung has already confirmed that their Galaxy S7 flagship(s) will be announced on February 21st in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress. The company’s flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices have been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks. We’ve seen not only a ton of rumors, but quite a few leaked renders, and benchmark listings. That’s not all though, these two devices were also certified by the 3C Certification Center in China quite recently, and it was just a matter of time before the same thing happens in the US, read on.
The Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A) and Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935A) devices have just been certified by the FCC in the US. As it’s usually the case with FCC listings, we don’t exactly get to see images of the devices, nor their specs, but the listing did share some connectivity info. The devices received Bluetooth, Dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC certifications, as expected. Now, we did get to see quite a bit of spec info in recent benchmark listings and leaks, so let’s see what we can expect. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will quite probably going to sport a 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) displays, respectively, along with 4GB of RAM, while the two phones will be available in various internal storage options. Benchmarks revealed that Samsung plans to release both the Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890-powered variants of these two devices, and their availability will vary from region to region. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on these two phones, and on top fo it, you’ll find Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI. The 12.2-megapixel BRITECELL camera has also been mentioned, and a 5-megapixel snapper will allegedly going to be available up front.
As far as the design is concerned, both fo these phones will resemble its predecessors quite a bit, but according to the available info, their build will most resemble the Galaxy Note 5. The physical home button will make a comeback once again, and will be located below the display, while the devices will be made out of metal and glass. That’s pretty much all the info we have at the moment, we’re sure more information will surface before these two phones get announced though, so stay tuned.
