Spigen Teases Rugged Armor Case For The LG G5

The upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) will be filled with interesting tech, as it is every year. Interestingly enough, both Samsung and LG will introduce their flagship offerings during the trade show, and to make things even more interesting, they’ll do it on the same day. Samsung will introduce their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagships, while LG is preparing to launch the LG G5 handset.

That being said, rumors and leaks have been surfacing like crazy recently, and LG has also dropped a huge hint yesterday. The company has teased the ‘always on’ display for their G5 flagship by publishing a .gif on the company’s official social media sites. This is more of a direct confirmation than a teaser really, and it’s really nice to see LG implement something like that. Anyhow, various case manufacturers have already released official cases for the LG G5, and Spigen is one of them. This US-based company has already listed one of their LG G5 cases on Amazon, as we’ve reported recently, and now the company continues teasing LG’s upcoming device by releasing a post on social media channels as well. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see Rugged Armor case that Spigen listed on Amazon. Now, this case basically confirms that the G5 will ship with two rear-facing cameras, and you can also see the Laser Autofocus located on the back of the phone. The power / lock button which presumably doubles as a fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this phone, and interestingly enough, LG has seemingly opted to move the volume rocker keys from the back of the handset, to its left-hand side.

What about the rest of G5’s specs? Well, if rumors are to be believed, this smartphone will ship with a 5.3-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 4GB of RAM and various internal storage variants (probably expandable) will be available. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC will fuel this smartphone, along with an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. One of the cameras on the back will be a 16-megapixel shooter, and we’re guessing that the other one will pack a different sensor, but who knows. The 8-megapixel snapper will be placed up front, and a 2,800mAh possibly removable battery will also be a part of this package. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this handset, and on top of it, you’ll find LG’s custom UI.
