Samsung Galaxy S7 handset(s) will get announced on February 21st. Samsung has confirmed that they’ll hold their Unpacked press event on said date during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Now, we’ve seen tons of rumors and leaks regarding the Galaxy S7, the device has surfaced in renders quite recently, and a number of benchmark listings have also popped up, not to mention that the device has been certified by both 3C Certification Center in China, and FCC in the US.
That being said, yet another benchmark listing surfaced, this time, we get to see T-Mobile’s Galaxy S7 variant listed on Geekbench. The T-Mobile Galaxy S7 carries the SM-G930T model number, unlike the SM-G930A which surfaced recently (AT&T variant). T-Mobile’s variant of the device actually performed a bit better on Geekbench than AT&T’s, but the hardware is identical. This model is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, while it also packs 4GB of RAM, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on the inside. The T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S7 scored 2,347 points in the single-core, and 5,352 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. The AT&T variant, which popped up about a week ago, scored 2,282 and 4,979 points on those two tests, respectively. These are somewhat expected results of this benchmark, though still below what Qualcomm’s reference device managed to produce.
The Galaxy S7 handset is expected to ship with a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, unlike the Galaxy S7 Edge which is said to sport a 5.7-inch display of the same resolution. The Galaxy S7 will also pack in 4GB of RAM, as mentioned above, and will be available in a number of internal storage variants. The phone will be available in both Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820-powered variants, and you can expect Android Marshmallow to come pre-installed on it, along with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The 12.2-megapixel BRITECELL camera has been mentioned several times in rumors, and it might be located on the back of the Galaxy S7. The 5-megapixel snapper will be placed up front, and the physical home button will once again going to be located below the display.
