T-Mobile has issued a press release announcing the launch of as many as three new devices on its network. While two of them are entry-level smartphones from LG Electronics and Alcatel OneTouch, the third one happens to be a Wi-Fi router from Chinese electronics major, ZTE. While none of the devices really have anything to do with Valentine’s Day, the carrier is using the upcoming event to market them nonetheless. Other companies are also using the day to market their products, and just a few days back, it was the turn of Motorola to invoke V-Day to market some new special edition versions of its Droid Turbo 2 ‘shatterproof’ smartphone.
Coming to the latest devices from T-Mo, an interesting choice seems to be the LG K7, which is a distinctly entry-level handset that was unveiled at the CES 2016 trade show. The device will cost $139.99 at full retail, but can be bought for zero down and $5.84 per month for 23 months ($5.67 for the 24th month). The K7 features a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 210 chipset, which comes with a quad-core application processor clocked at 1.1 GHz. The K7 sports just 1.5 GB of RAM and a mere 8 GB of internal storage. However, storage can be increased by way of a microSD card of up to 32 GB in capacity. The device supports LTE connectivity and has 5-megapixel cameras on both the rear and front.
As for the two other devices from T-Mobile, the ZTE Falcon Hotspot router was announced last week, and is now available to buy from the carrier. The device supports as many as ten concurrent connections and will retail at $79.99. Customers, however, can also opt for T-Mobile’s interest-free financing to get it at zero down and $3.34 per month for 23 months ($3.17 for the 24th month). Finally, there’s the Alcatel Fierce XL, which is the very first Windows 10 phone to be available at the carrier. The device is an entry-level smartphone that was rumored to come to T-Mo as far back as in October last year. The handset comes with a $139.99 price-tag much like the K7, and can also be financed by T-Mo under the exact same payment plan as that of the Android device from LG.
