Over the past decade the power of a single app has grown from being a simple way to check your email or small, entertaining games. For a lot of people, Uber might be an app just like every other, but for even more of them it’s become an essential way to get from A to B, whether that’s due to frequent business trips or simple to and from work. The firm has seen controversy and massive growth, often in equal measure. For some time now, Uber has been running their FedEx, UPS and DHL competitor, UberRUSH. Essentially turning extra space inside of an unused Uber into a delivery truck, the service gets products, be that food or otherwise into the hands of people quicker than ever. This Valentine’s Day week, Uber will be delivering earphones in both New York City as well as San Francisco, just in time for the 14th.
Partnering with New York boutique audio brand, Master & Dynamic, UberRUSH will be delivering the ME05 in-ear headphones that the New York firm launched towards the end of the year. We reviewed these in their original brass appearance, but they’ve also been launched in a silver-looking Palladium finish now, too. It’s unclear whether or not both finishes of the ME05 will be available, but they will be delivered in the below special Valentine’s Day packaging. The ME05s will be available starting today, Wednesday 10th running to Friday 12th and will be delivered the same day that people place an order, should they choose UberRUSH delivery.
Master & Dynamic is a high-end audio brand, and we’ve reviewed a number of their products and we recently got the chance to talk to their CEO, Jonathan Levine. The ME05 earphones run for $199, and while they’re pricey they’re built to last with great sound quality to boot. Whether or not this delivery scheme just before Valentine’s Day is a gimmick is up to you, but it is nice to see UberRUSH help out those that might have forgotten to take their significant other something, if only we could order some flowers, a card and some chocolate to go along with fancy earphones, right?
