Xiaomi Mi 5 has, much like the Galaxy S7, been leaking for months now. The rumors and leaks intensified in the last couple of weeks though, the Mi 5 has been popping up not only in various renders and rumors, but we’ve seen some benchmark listings as well. This handset has actually leaked earlier today, well, its back panel did, and now we have yet another new piece of info that you might be interested in, read on.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has just surfaced on GFXBench, a benchmarking site. Now, basically every rumor which surfaced in the last couple of weeks reported that the phone will ship with a 5.1-inch display, well… this benchmark listing definitely disagrees with that. According to GFXBench, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will sports a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Truth be told, this is quite probably the standard variant, it si almost certain that Xiaomi intends to introduce a 4GB RAM model as well, next to this 3GB RAM one. Anyhow, the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC will fuel this smartphone, and this particular piece of information has been confirmed before by Xiaomi’s exec, as was the fact that the phone will sport a 1080p panel. Android 6.0 Marshmallow has also listed on GFXBench, and on top of it, you’ll get Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 Android-powered OS.
The listing did not mention anything about Mi 5’s camera sensors, but if leaks are to be believed, the Mi 5 will ship with a 16-megapixel rear-facing, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. The rumors also say that the device will be available in both all-metal, and metal + glass variants, but we’ll see what comes out of that. Various leaks which surfaced lately showed us the physical home button on the Mi 5, that seems a bit odd for Xiaomi, but it seems like the Mi 5 will ship with the physical home button below the display, and that key will probably double as a fingerprint scanner. That is pretty much all the info we have thus far, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be announced in Beijing and in Barcelona on February 24th, as the company confirmed, so stay tuned for that.
