After Best Buy and Verizon opened pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge on February 23rd, reports have emerged that the said companies have started shipping Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship smartphones to customers who ordered them in advance. Even though both devices are officially slated for release this Friday, March 11th, chances are that those in the U.S. who pre-ordered are getting them either from Verizon or Best Buy even before that date. Of course, that all depends on the shipping option they opted for, but nevertheless, their new devices are probably coming sooner rather than later. This isn’t a particularly uncommon practice for U.S. businesses, as some T-Mobile customers have already been using their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones as of last Monday, February 29th while AT&T and Sprint also started shipping the latest additions to the Galaxy S line of mobile devices last week.
In any case, as Reddit user NeverEndingXsin reported yesterday, some Best Buy customers may even pick up their new pocket companions as early as today, so if you’re one of those who pre-ordered a Galaxy S7 through them, it may be worth giving your local store a ring and inquiring about the status of your purchase. Chances are it’s already ready for shipment and you may even schedule a pick-up date. However, it’s currently unknown whether the same applies for the Galaxy S7 Edge. Verizon is also apparently releasing their first batch of both phones early for people who placed their orders directly through them, so if you’re one of them, expect to be on the receiving end of a very happy phone call in the very near future, possibly even today or tomorrow.
Just in case you weren’t aware, anyone who pre-orders or straight-out purchases the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge by March 18 is eligible for a free Samsung Gear VR headset that comes bundled with around half a dozen games. The value of that package amounts to around 150 bucks, so this isn’t a bad incentive for those people who are still on the fence about getting one of these high-tier smartphones, and there are still 11 more days for them to make up their minds. However, it’s worth noting that this promotional offer unfortunately only applies to U.S. customers.
