Huawei To Unveil A Curved-Display Handset In H2 2016

Huawei is one of China’s largest smartphone manufacturers, and the third largest smartphone OEM on a global scale. Huawei was also one of the most successful smartphone manufacturing companies last year, they’ve managed to sell 108 million devices, and have basically managed to surprise quite a few people along the way by releasing extremely compelling devices. Huawei is looking to continue growing this year as well, and will soon introduce the new line of ‘P9’ devices in London in an event which will take place on April 6th. As we’re waiting for that day to arrive, a new Huawei-related rumor surfaced, read on.

As you may recall, recent reports stated that a number of China-based companies intend on releasing smartphones with curved displays this year. Vivo already did that with the Vivo Xplay 5, a device which not only sports the ‘Dual Edge’ display like the Galaxy S6 Edge & S7 Edge, but also packs in 6GB of RAM. Well, according to a new rumor, Huawei plans to release a device with a curved display in the second half of this year. Now, according to the available info, Huawei will not introduce a device with a ‘Dual Edge’ display, but something different. We doubt this rumor is talking about a 2.5D curved display, because a ton of smartphones sport such panels. So, what kind of a display will this phone sport? We don’t know yet, but it is possible this rumor is regarding the Huawei Mate S2, the second-gen Mate S handset. Huawei has introduced the original Mate S during IFA in Berlin last year, and its successor will quite probably going to be announced at this year’s IFA.

It will certainly going to be interesting to see what will Huawei bring to the table this time around. The company showed everyone that they’re able to provide great devices which sport not only sleek-looking but premium design, and the bar is set quite high for Huawei this time around. The Huawei Mate 8, Nexus 6P, Honor 7 and the Huawei Watch were an exceptionally good looking devices, and it will interesting to see if Huawei can outdo themselves and create something even more appealing in 2016.
