The Huawei Watch (which was just recently updated to Android 6.0) has been fairly well-received from the tech crowd for its rather stunning design which looks more like a regular watch with luxury touches as opposed to a smartwatch that functions and looks like a smartwatch first but a watch second. When the Huawei Watch initially launched it was only launched in a couple of different variations and the design was tailored more towards men, with wider wrist straps and a more masculine design to it. Back during CES 2016, Huawei unveiled two new designs of the Android Wear device, the Huawei Watch Elegant, and the Huawei Watch Jewel, both targeted at women, offering up slimmer straps, jewels, and a more feminine look to the watch.
Today it seems that Huawei is gearing up to add two more variations of the watch of the watch to their lineup aimed at women, with a Huawei Watch Elegant that comes with a brown leather strap instead of the white seen on the original offering, and a new model of the Huawei Watch Jewel, which forgoes the blue strap and white encrusted stones around the face for a more vibrant and lush offering of a red leather strap and red stones around the face to match.
Currently, neither of these new options are available for purchase it seems, not even on Huawei’s Chinese site where the pictures for these models are displayed, but for those here in the U.S. if you navigate to the Huawei US web page, neither of these Huawei Watch variations are visible, which suggests they may not be launching outside of China or, they just haven’t updated the U.S. site yet as they may be launching in China first before heading out to other regions. When and if Huawei chooses to launch the brown strap Elegant and the red model of the Jewel in the U.S., the prices are likely to be the same as the original models that were unveiled earlier this year, which were set at prices of $499 and $599 respectively, although there is no confirmation on that as Huawei haven’t officially announced these new variations of the device.
