LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE Up for Pre-Order at Verizon

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, what a mouthful, has had a pretty interesting life cycle. After being announced late last year along side the LG V10, and going up for pre-order at a few carriers – AT&T even sold the thing for a few days – LG decided to pull the smartwatch due to a rather big issue. Although LG wouldn’t state what the issue was. Now, nearly 6 months later, the device is back up for pre-order on Verizon (AT&T opened pre-orders again earlier this week too).

This smartwatch is the only one with Android Wear that uses LTE. Which was actually added into Android Wear with the Marshmallow update. That made things a bit interesting when the new update came to Android Wear and featured LTE support, but there was no smartwatch available with LTE. Hopefully things will go smoothly this time around and that issue that LG faced a few months ago with the smartwatch is now fixed. Verizon is offering up the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE for just $449. That is with a two-year contract, and if you want it without a contract, it’ll be $499. When it comes to a smartwatch, we’d definitely recommend going for the off-contract option. As it will be cheaper in the long-run and you won’t be tied down to Verizon for two years.

Now the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE is one of those watches that uses your phone number. So you can use the number from your smartphone on your watch. What this means is that you can make calls from the watch without it being connected to your smartphone. This is especially awesome for those times that you are out on a run and don’t want to take your phone out there with you. Making it a pretty awesome experience, to say the least.

According to Verizon’s website, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE is slated to be shipping on April 1st, which is next Friday. That is the same day that the LG G5 is slated to be released. Which also went up for pre-order at Verizon today.
