The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the latest handsets from Samsung and are ones which already seemed to have been well-received. At least based on first impressions and what seems to be a decent demand for the two devices across the globe. Both smartphones saw their pre-orders being opened up shortly after they were announced and while some lucky users were noted receiving their orders early, it was only last week (March 11) when the two smartphones commenced their general sale availability. Of course, being Samsung’s latest Galaxy devices, this does mean that you can buy either device through just about every retailer and through all the major carriers.
If you happen to have bought either the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge already and especially through T-Mobile, then it looks like in spite of the devices being only a week old, the two handsets are now receiving an early update from T-Mobile. In the grand scale of things, the update is not anything too major and as to be expected, there are no new or notable features being included in the update. However, the update does seem to be one which adds to the security of the device, which is always an update worth applying. This is in addition to the more commonly received stability and performance improvements which normally come through, as well as a number of more general bug fixes. Interestingly, the Edge version did receive an update already and even before the two devices went on general sale, one which looked to improve the Edge screen performance.
As the current T-Mobile update is a small one, the size of the update is said to be weighing in around the 41MB marker, so this should be an easy enough and quick enough update to apply. If you have not seen the update arrive in notification form on your handset yet, then you can always manually search for the update through the usual method, heading to the device settings menu, then down to “About Device”, followed by “Software update” and finally clicking on “Check for updates”. Alternatively, you should see the update arriving soon enough on its own, if you decide to wait.
