Earlier this year, SwiftKey debuted a new set of stats that you could see in the beta version of their keyboard. It would show you things like your most used emoji, vocabulary size, the top 3 to 5 topics you type about most and more. It’s a pretty interesting feature, and really tells a lot about yourself in the world of typing on your smartphone. Today, SwiftKey announced that these stats are leaving beta and coming to the stable version of their keyboard app. So you’ll see an update to SwiftKey available later today in the Play Store.
Some of the new stats you’ll see are topics. Which shows three to five different subjects that you type about the most. SwiftKey has a bunch of categories here to show you the topics you talk about most. There’s also Top Emoji, which is pretty self-explanatory, but it’s the emoji that you use most often. This stat throws all of the emoji’s you use into a cloud and the bigger an emoji is, the more often you use it. Pretty simple really. On the topic of emoji, there’s also Signature emoji. Like the Top Emoji, this shows you which emoji you use most, but also shows you which emoji you use more than other people. Finally there’s vocabulary size. Just a simple stat showing you how many words SwiftKey has learned from you. Obviously this starts at zero and as words are saved the vocabulary size will grow. On top of this, you still have all of your usual stats, including how much more efficient you are, taps saved, words predicted, and such.
SwiftKey says that this idea was born at one of their “innovation weeks” and was developed as fun way to see your typing habits. Not just in words or text, but also in emoji’s. It’s great to see that SwiftKey is still hard at work on the app, after being bought by Microsoft. SwiftKey did say that nothing would change as far as their keyboard goes, and it’s great to see that is actually happening. You can download SwiftKey Keyboard from the Google Play Store now.
