The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from Samsung are easily two of the most sought after devices of right now. They are devices which had been previously in their pre-order status, although that did change back on March 11 when their general availability status was reached. As a result, a number of retailers and carriers are all vying to attract consumers who are considering buying either of the two Galaxy S7 devices and the latest promotion has now come from Verizon.
Verizon has today announced the launch of their Verizon Annual Upgrade Program and as a result, Verizon has now confirmed that if you buy either the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge you can upgrade the device next year for free. In fact, the release states that it is not only for next year, but essentially every year going forward. A move which will allow consumers to consistently upgrade to the latest Galaxy handset each year. This is of course, a program which is seemingly doing the rounds at the moment, as Samsung has also started an upgrade program which has now rolled out in select regions including South Korea and the UK. However, if you are a Verizon customer (or planning to be) then this might be the best option for you.
In terms of the caveats, the device does have to be purchased on a Verizon device payment plan and 50-percent of the value of the phone does need to be paid off before the upgrade can take place. For those who had already pre-ordered the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, then Verizon has also confirmed that they are automatically included in the upgrade program and therefore, will not need to do anything going forward. Likewise, if you do not want to upgrade then you do not have to and instead, can simply opt to continue paying off for your device as originally planned and over the course of a two-year contract. To sweeten the deal, Verizon has also confirmed that those switching from another carrier and picking up either Galaxy S7 device can get a $100 bill credit, while existing customers can get as much as $300 by trading in their old handset when upgrading.
