Verizon Now Selling The Giant Samsung Galaxy View Tablet

Samsung launched an interesting tablet last year, it’s called the Galaxy View and it features a very large display that measures 18.4 inches and sporting a Full HD resolution. Its size might be questionable and its specs are nowhere near high-end, so it was clear that Samsung built this tablet for media consumption. The company stated that this device is the first into a new product category called “movable devices” as it is supposed to combine the big screen experience you would get from a TV with the portability you would get from a tablet. The company has even explained a number of scenarios where such a device might come in handy. Users could start watching a TV show, movie or sports event and easily transport the tablet into another room so they can continue watching it from the new location. Now, the tablet is available from Verizon, so users can benefit from the carrier’s 4G LTE network and use the tablet in more places, even while on the go.

The tablet includes a built-in handle and a stand, so it can be transported without difficulty and can be placed on any flat surface so users don’t need to hold it while watching content. The software has also been optimized for that particular screen size, it includes an easy to navigate grid interface for the entertainment content as well as an interface that will be familiar for those who have used any of Samsung’s tablets. A special app has been created, so users can control the tablet using their smartphone as a remote. Other specs of the Galaxy View include stereo speakers, an octa-core processor (clocked at 1.6 GHz), a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 64 GB of internal storage expandable with microSD cards (up to an additional 128 GB). It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and the battery can provide up to 8 hours of battery life.

The Galaxy View can be purchased with a Verizon device payment plan for $24.99 a month over a 24-month period or for $499.99 up front with a new two-year activation. For those who already have a Verizon plan, they can add the tablet for an additional monthly fee of $10. There are five Verizon plans available, ranging from 1 GB of data for $30 per month up to 18 GB of data for $100 per month and all data included in these plans can be shared with other devices (maximum of 10).
