Asus has released quite a few of their Android-powered ZenFone devices last year. The company has managed to sell around 20 million ZenFone units in 2015, and some of those phones were quite interesting. One variant of the ZenFone 2 actually sports 4GB of RAM on the inside, and was the first smartphone in the world with that much RAM included. The ZenFone Max, on the other hand, is the company’s low to mid-range handset which sports a beefy 5,000mAh battery on the inside. We’ve talked about this phone in the past, but we do have some new info to share with you, as the company has released a brand new video, read on.
The ZenFone Max was introduced back in August last year, and Asus actually decided to put it side by side with the Apple iPhone 6S Plus in order to boast its superior battery life. Now, this Taiwan-based company has basically put the ZenFone Max and iPhone 6S Plus ide by side on a tablet, and let them both run the same movies / TV shows until they run out of juice. The iPhone 6S Plus died after 5 hours and 31 minutes of constant screen on video playback, while the ZenFone Max lasted for 12 hours and 45 minutes. Now, the ZenFone Max did last twice as much as Apple’s offering, but this is a rather strange pairing on Asus’ behalf. The ZenFone Max is an affordable offering by the company, while the iPhone 6S Plus is Apple’s flagship handset at the moment. Either way, this definitely proves that the ZenFone Max has a far superior battery life, so Asus definitely proved the point
The ZenFone Max can be purchased for around $200 in a number of regions already, though it is not available in the US. This smartphone sports a 5.5-inch 720p display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this smartphone, and a 5,000mAh battery is available on the inside. The 13-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the ZenFone Zoom, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device, and as you can see, the phone does resemble the rest of the company’s ‘ZenFone’ lineup in terms of the design.
