When it comes to music streaming and player apps, Android users do certainly have their pick to choose from. If you like the core way Google does things, then probably Google Play Music and its All Access Service is your thing. LIkewise, if you prefer a much more feature-heavy music player and service then Spotify is probably what you use. Then there the other options like Tidal and for those on Android, who especially like the way Apple does things, there is always Apple Music.
While it seems strange having an Apple Music app on Android, that is exactly what the company launched towards the close of 2015 and initially in the form of a beta app. However, since then the app has gone on to a general release and generally speaking, does receive quite a number of routine and useful updates. The most recent of which have included a homescreen widget, the ability to assign offline music to SD cards and more. In fact, the latest update now seems to be available and this one adds even more functionality to the app.
The first and most notable aspect is that the app now includes support for watching videos on Apple Music. So if you would like to watch video content as well as listen to your favorite tracks through Apple Music, now you can. In addition, the app update also brings with it support for Family Membership. For those new to this, Family Membership is essentially the same deal Google currently offers with its Google Play Music’s Family Plan. Basically, for $15 per month, as many as six family members can subscribe to the service. Which again, identical to Google’s options is a nice discount when you consider a single membership to either Apple Music or Play Music will run you $10. As mentioned, the update is already being listed on the Play Store and so if you have the app installed, chances are good that you will see the update arrive soon enough, if you have not already.
