Smartwatches can do quite a bit these days compared to just a couple of years ago and yet there is still plenty of room to grow and expand outside of their current abilities. The all new CoWatch is a smartwatch which aims to start bringing this sort of expansion to the wearables market by producing a smartwatch which is capable of integrating with Amazon’s Alexa software, which means it can interact with the Echo Speaker and the other devices which have Alexa software inside of them. More than just integrating with Alexa though, by extension of the Alexa support the CoWatch is integrating the Internet of Things, and that makes the device quite a bit more powerful.
Like any other smartwatch, the CoWatch is capable of feeding users notifications and alerts to emails, messages, phone calls, alarms and more, powered by a software called Cronologics OS that has a similar look to Android Wear. The CoWatch is compatible with both Android smartphones that are running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and above and iOS 9 devices. It boasts a 1.39-inch Super AMOLED display with a 400 x 400 pixel resolution, equipped with a 1.2GHz processor with1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It’s also water-resistant and can last up to 32 hours on a single charge with the 300mAh battery, with wireless charging built in for when you need to toss it back on the charging base.
The CoWatch is also designed with active people in mind, and features activity tracking as well as a heart rate sensor to track heart rate. Like Android Wear it features watch face customization too so those who may prefer to have the freedom to personalize the watch face will be able to do so. Right now the CoWatch is currently on Indiegogo and seeking backers, with perks starting at $159 which the CoWatch team states is going to be about a 43% discount off of the normal cost of the watch once it hits the market. The CoWatch is estimated to begin shipping to backers by approximately June of 2016, and is available in either Carbon Black or Mineral Silver colors, made from a fracture-resistant stainless steel and zirconia composite body.
