CREO is a company we’ve talked about several times now. This company has managed to secure $3 million funding from Sequoia India, Beenext Ventures and India Quotient a while back, and they’ve announced back in January that their very own smartphone and OS are going to launch soon. Well, the company has already confirmed that the incoming device is called CREO Mark 1, and they’ve also already showcased the design of this phone to some extent. We also know that the phone will be introduced on April 13th, and now we have some new info coming straight from the company, read on.
The company has decided to share yet another video teaser before the launch event which will take place the day after tomorrow. This teaser actually does not reveal a lot on its own, though it does tease the phone’s design, and some features of the company’s Android-based UI. Some sort of a voice function is being teased at 0:17 mark in the video, and two other icons are also being shared by the company, though we don’t know what are they supposed to represent just yet. The company has promised that this handset will receive frequent updates (on a monthly basis), and the phone will sport three capacitive buttons below the display, all of which will be circle-shaped. We’re still not sure whether you’ll be able to remove those capacitive buttons and use on-screen ones perhaps, but we’ll find out soon. The phone will offer two SIM card slots, one of which you’re going to be able to use for microSD card expansion. The phone will sport metallic frame, and judging by what we’ve seen thus far, this might be a rather interesting phone, as well as its UI.
In addition to all this, the company will allow consumers to engrave their Mark 1 handset with up to 40 characters, which is a nice touch. That is more or less it as far as this device goes, we don’t have the spec info just yet, but we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as we know more. Now, another thing to take note of is the fact that the company intends to live stream the event on April 13th, so stay tuned for that as well.
