Google Store Lists Huawei Watch for Women as "Coming Soon"

Huawei has been going all in when it comes to Android Wear. While they technically have just the Huawei Watch as of right now, they have released several different models. Some in different colors, some with different bands (leather, metal, etc), and at CES 2016 they announced Huawei Watch for Women. This was part of their partnership with Swarovski and created two new styles which were named Elegant and Jewel. And the Jewel model actually has jewels around the face of the watch. We’ve seen these watches listed on Huawei’s Chinese site (a bit strange since Android Wear doesn’t work real well in China due to the firewall). Now the new watches are being listed on Google’s own store, although they are listed as “Coming Soon”. So they aren’t available yet, but they should be pretty soon.

At CES, Huawei noted that these two would be available starting in Q1 2016, so it looks like they missed their mark slightly, as it’s now a week into Q2. Huawei hasn’t mentioned any pricing for these two models just yet, but you should expect them to be a bit more expensive than the regular Huawei Watch that has been on sale since last fall. Especially the Jewel model. The Huawei Watch Jewel and Elegant have thinner bands, but outside of that the internals are exactly the same as standard Huawei Watch.

One of the best Android Wear smartwatches available, the Huawei Watch was built for the future, according to Huawei. With the speaker support coming in the latest update to Android Wear, and the Huawei Watch being one of just a couple of smartwatches with an internal speaker, that is definitely looking to be the case. When we reviewed the Huawei Watch last fall, we loved the watch, as it feels and looks like one of the most premium Android Wear smartwatches to date (that was before the Tag Heuer Connected was announced and made available). As soon as the Huawei Watch Jewel and Elegant are available on the Google Store, we’ll be sure to update this post. It should be just a couple of days, as that’s usually how long it takes for Google to list them and put them on sale.
