This morning HTC took the wraps off of their brand new flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. This is their latest flagship and the successor to the HTC One M9 announced at Mobile World Congress in 2015. The smartphone here comes in four colors, however only three of them are available globally. If you’re on KDDI in Japan, you’ll get the Camellia Red. Which is a bright red color that you would expect to see at Verizon, actually.
The other three colors are Carbon Grey, Glacial Silver and Topaz Gold. The Carbon Gray is basically the same as the darker gray we’ve seen with recent HTC flagships. While the Topaz Gold is a more muted gold color on the HTC 10 here, and has a white face full of gloss. While the back won’t be a fingerprint magnet, the front definitely will be. Then we have the glacial silver, which is basically just the regular aluminum look here. Now it’ll be coming to some regions with a white front and others in a black front. HTC hasn’t mentioned which regions are getting which just yet, but we should know more soon.
HTC’s new smartphone the HTC 10 is going up for pre-order today. The company is looking for $699 off contract for this one. Which puts it higher than the LG G5, but just a few bucks short of the Samsung Galaxy S7. Spec-wise, the HTC 10 is right up there with the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and the LG G5. HTC has a 5.2-inch 2560×1440 resolution Super LCD 5 display here, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is also paired with the Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of on board storage (which there should be about 26GB available to the end user), 12-megapixel camera on the back which HTC is marketing as an “UltraPixel” camera again and there’s a 3,000mAh battery inside. The device does support Quick Charge 3.0, so charging it up shouldn’t be much of an issue.
The HTC 10 is available for pre-order right now. The unlocked or developer edition is available on HTC’s website and does work with both AT&T and T-Mobile. This is important because AT&T isn’t selling the HTC 10 this time around.
