Latest HTC 10 Teaser is all about Battery Life

HTC continues to hype its new flagship smartphone that will be announced on Tuesday, April 12th. The event is going to be streaming in virtual reality on April 12th at 8am EST. While HTC hasn’t confirmed that the name is the HTC 10, they are using the #PowerOf10 hashtag everywhere on all of their teasers for the device. So it is likely the name of the upcoming device. HTC has been saying that they are “obsessed” with certain features of this smartphone, and the latest is the smartphone.

In the teaser they are talking about how we are all obsessed with taking pictures, tweets, videos and much more, and we want our phone to last all day long. They end the short 30-second clip with a line about how their engineers “have it down to a science” when it comes to battery life. There’s no telling if that means they have thrown in a big battery in the back of this phone – which would be nice to have – or simply optimized the software to be very battery efficient. HTC hasn’t been known for great battery life in the past few years, so this is definitely exciting to see from them.

The leaks we’ve seen point to a 3,000mAh battery in the HTC 10. And with the rumored 5.15-inch Quad HD display and Snapdragon 820 processor, that 3,000mAh battery should be plenty of juice. It should, theoretically get you about as much as what the Galaxy S7 gets you right now. And for most people, that’s a full day of usage. From waking up in the morning, until going to bed at night. That’ll be a welcomed change in the HTC 10.

So far, it looks like HTC has corrected all of the issues that users and reviewers alike, complained about in their last three flagships. Although it’s important to remember that these are all rumors, and nothing is yet confirmed. But we shall know everything on Tuesday when HTC makes the device official. We definitely can’t wait to see what HTC has up their sleeve this year. This could be a make or break year for HTC, even with the Vive doing pretty well so far.
