Meizu PRO 6 Is Official With 4GB Of RAM, Metal Body And More

Meizu has introduced two flagship smartphones last year, the Meizu MX5 and Meizu PRO 5. The Meizu MX5 was their flagship smartphone of sort, while the PRO 5 was a 5.7-inch phablet. The PRO 5 was introduced back in September, and very few people expected to see its successor announced before Q3 of this year, but the company has indirectly confirmed that this device is going to be announced on April 13th a while back. Well, the day has come, Meizu has just unveiled their all new PRO 6 flagship in China, let’s see what it has to offer.

The Meizu PRO 6 is, much like its predecessor, an all-metal smartphone. Unlike the PRO 5, however, the PRO 6 is considerably smaller. The Meizu PRO 6 sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display which is pressure sensitive (3D Press), along with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X25 64-bit deca-core processor, along with the Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. Meizu actually has exclusive rights to this processor, as it was confirmed during MediaTek’s recent press event where they introduced this chip. The 21.16-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the Meizu PRO 6, along with the Ring dual-tone flash (10x), as Meizu calls it. As far as the front-facer is concerned, Meizu has opted for a 5-megapixel sensor. The 2,560mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. Speaking of which, Meizu has also included mCharge 3.0 fast charging, which should be able to charge this 2,560mAh unit really fast. The USB 3.1 Type-C port is placed on the bottom of this phone, along with the loudspeaker (mSound, NXP Smart PA system).

As far as the design is concerned, the phone does resemble its predecessor, especially if you look at the front side of the phone. You’ll notice that the mBack physical key is still present below the display, and it actually acts as your capacitive back button, and a physical home key. The fingerprint scanner is placed inside of the home button, and both the power / lock and volume rocker physical buttons are available on the phone’s right-hand side. The Meizu PRO 6 comes in Dark Gray, Silver, Red, Gold and Rose Gold color variants, while the pricing still hasn’t been announced, we’ll update this article soon.

UPDATE: The 32GB storage variant of the Meizu PRO 6 is priced at 2,499 Yuan ($386), while the 64GB model costs 2,799 Yuan ($433).

UPDATE 2: The device will be available for purchase in China starting from April 23rd. Click here for more details.
