Meizu PRO 6 is the company’s newest flagship, it has been announced earlier today. This handset is a direct successor to the Meizu PRO 5 which was introduced back in September last year. The Meizu PRO 6, unlike its sibling, sports a smaller 5.2-inch display. Very few people expected such a move by Meizu, especially considering the PRO 5 was considered to be the first device in Meizu’s flagship phablet line, but it seems like Meizu opted to change things around. The announcement of this handset actually makes us wonder if the Meizu MX6 will see the light of day this year.
Anyhow, the Meizu PRO 6 has been announced, and along with it Meizu has released quite a few of additional info. The company has, during the press conference in China, shared some camera sample shots taken with the Meizu PRO 6. The device features a 21.16-megapixel snapper (f/2.2 aperture, 6-element lens, PDAF) on the back, along with the 10x ‘Ring flash’, as Meizu calls it. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see three images in there. The first image is actually the most interesting one, it shows off a river during the night, well, nightfall. It seems like Meizu worked hard to improve low light capabilities of their camera, the PRO 5 was able to capture really decent shots, but it wasn’t that good in low-lit situations. We’re guessing that Meizu improved camera software considerably here, though it will be interesting to use the PRO 6’s camera and give it a proper review. Another thing Meizu PRO 5 had issues with is exposure, its camera can sometimes overexpose certain parts of the image if bright light is a part of the picture, so we’re hoping the PRO 6 won’t have such problems.
The second image in the gallery is trying to show you how fast the PRO 6 can take an image. There are several pidgeons in this image, and they’re taking off, which means their wings are moving really fast, and yet this image is not blurry. And last, but not least, the third image. As you can see, there’s plenty of detail in this shot, and smartphone cameras usually find it hard to balance such images, especially when there’s sun reflecting off the water. These are not full-sized images, so keep that in mind, Meizu resized them.
