Meizu Unveils Meizu M3 In Two Variants, Starts At Only $92

Meizu has introduced two new devices this year, and interestingly enough, both of them were announced earlier this month. The company has announced the M3 Note, their new mid-ranger, and the PRO 6, the company’s all-new flagship. That being said, the company has scheduled yet another event for today, and judging by some rumors, the company’s teaser and the TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) certification, we were expecting to see Meizu unveil their M3 handset. Well, that’s exactly what happened earlier today, read on.

The Meizu M3 is the company’s budget offering for this year, this device costs only 599 Yuan, well, the cheapest model does, we’ll talk more about pricing in a minute. The Meizu M3 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.5GHz, and the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (f/2.2 aperture, PDAF) is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper (f/2.0 aperture, FotoNation 2.0 technology) is included up front. The 2,870mAh battery is also a part of this package, and there are two SIM card slots available on the inside of Meizu M3. Meizu’s Flyme 5.1 UI (YunOS) ships on top of Android, and 4G LTE connectivity is also available here, fo course.

The Meizu M3 sports the mBack physical home button below the display, just like every other recently announced Meizu device does. This is a physical home button, capacitive back button and a fingerprint scanner all at once. The Meizu M3 will be available in Blue, White, Gray, Pink and Gold color options, in case you’re interested. The device measures 141.5 x 69.5 x 8.3mm, while it weighs 132 grams. The 2GB RAM (+16GB storage) variant of the device is priced at 599 Yuan ($92) in China, while the 3GB RAM (+32GB storage) model comes at 799 Yuan ($122). Consumers in China can already pre-order this smartphone, and the device will be available for sale on April 29th. It is also worth mentioning that Meizu plans to introduce this handset in India next month.
