Moto 360 Sport Disappears from Google Store

The Moto 360 Sport has had a pretty short life-span on the Google Store. After being announced last fall, it was only the December when it finally went up for order and landed on the Google Store. The Moto 360 Sport was a more “sporty” version of the Moto 360. Meant to be aimed more at those that are into fitness. Instead of having users buy a fitness tracker like something from Fitbit, Jawbone or Garmin. The Moto 360 Sport was a great looking smartwatch, especially in that respect, which we found in our review.

Now after less than 6 months, the Moto 360 Sport has disappeared from the Google Store. This is after it got a $200 discount to $199 over at Amazon, Best Buy and a few other retailers earlier this week. Since it was removed from the Store, this doesn’t mean that it’s simply out of stock, but it essentially means that its life span is over. And over way to quickly. That doesn’t mean it still won’t get updates, it likely will for the next few years, seeing as the internals are the same as most of the other smartwatches available on the Google Store. But it does mean that there’s a limited supply and that we may be seeing a new Moto 360 coming soon.

Motorola India did actually announce an event for next month in India where they would announce the Moto G4. Seeing as the Moto G is Motorola’s most successful smartphone in India, that’s not a huge surprise – especially given that last year they held an event in India for the Moto G on the same day as the US and UK. We may see a Moto 360 3rd generation coming soon, or we may not. It’s tough to tell for now. However if you are still wanting to pick up the Moto 360 Sport, you can do so over at Amazon (link is below). It’s a pretty great smartwatch, running Android Wear of course, and has support for Google Fit and a slew of other fitness applications. The Moto 360 Sport was available in “Flame”, black and white. All of which are still available on Amazon.
