ZTE hasn’t really announced many smartphones this year, but the company did launch the international nubia.com site back in January during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This suggests that Nubia might start selling their devices internationally, which would certainly help their sales. Nubia-branded phones have been limited to Asia, they’re mostly available in China though. Anyhow, the company has been teasing their April 19th event for quite some time now, and it was quite obvious they intend on launching the Nubia Z11 Mini smartphone, and that’s exactly what happened, read on.

The Nubia Z11 Mini is a direct successor to the Nubia Z9 Mini which was announced a year ago. This time around though the company opted not to introduce the Nubia Z11 and Z11 Max devices, it is highly likely those two phones will be announced next month. Anyhow, the Nubia Z11 Mini features a 5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080, 441ppi) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX298, PDAF) is placed on the back of the phone, and an 8-megapixel camera can be found up front. Nubia has included various features along with their camera software, like the 3D Noise Reduction, Clone Camera, etc. This device is made out of metal, and it ships with a 2,800mAh battery which is not removable.

The dual-band Wi-Fi is also a part of this package, and so is DTS sound support. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes out of the box here, and the company’s Nubia UI 3.9 comes installed on top of Google’s OS. Nubia Z11 Mini also comes with two SIM card slots and VoLTE support, and the phone will be available in Black, White and Gold color variants, as you can see in the images down below. The fingerprint scanner is also a part of this package, and it is located on the back of the phone. Nubia’s trademark capacitive circle button is placed below the display once again, and the phone does resemble its predecessor to an extent. The phone measures 141.9 x 70.4 x 8mm, while it weighs 138 grams. Pricing for the Nubia Z11 Mini still hasn’t been announced, but the event is still not over, so stay tuned.

UPDATE: Nubia Z11 Mini is priced at 1,499 Yuan ($232) in China, flash sale registrations start today, and the phone will go on sale on April 25th.

UPDATE 2: The phone with a wooden back cover has been shown off in promo materials, but we still don’t have any info when will it be available.
