OnePlus One Marshmallow Update Possibly Rolling Out Tomorrow

There are a number of smartphones still waiting on their update to the latest version of Android, Marshmallow. While the updates are slowly making their way to devices, one company has yet to see any of their handsets being updated, OnePlus. In total, the company has released three phone, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X. Of the three, it was looking like the current flagship, the OnePlus 2 might be the first to see a proper and final version of Android 6.0 rolling out, as OnePlus had recently released a ‘community build’ for users to download. One which is essentially an open testing version before the final version begins its outward journey.

However, it is now starting to look as though the OnePlus One could be the first to receive its update to Marshmallow. Reports did emerge a couple of days ago referencing a tweet which was sent out by Carl Pei of OnePlus. A tweet which made the point that the One Marshmallow update should be arriving “very soon.” Following on from that tweet, there is some strong indications that the update is likely to begin rolling out to OnePlus One owners from tomorrow.

The confirmation comes from the OnePlus India blog where they do seem to be confirming the rolling out of Marshmallow to the OnePlus One from tomorrow. It is worth keeping in mind that this is Cyanogen OS for the OnePlus One and not OxygenOS. The blog posting details that the update will come in the form of “CM 13.0” and will sport build number ZNH0EAS26M and will be part of a staged roll out. According to the blog post, the confirming of tomorrow, April 9, comes directly from Cyanogen. Of course, there are a couple of issues for concern with this confirmation as the blog posting seems to be referencing CM instead of CyanogenOS. Not to mention, with this being the Indian side of OnePlus and without further confirmations coming from other regional OnePlus blogs, it is unknown whether this will be a wide roll out or just for India. Although, at the very least it does seem that some OnePlus One owners might be receiving Marshmallow via Cyanogen OS starting tomorrow. Unfortunately, the blog posting does not provide any information on the OxygenOS Marshmallow update for the OnePlus 2 or the OnePlus x.
