T-Mobile Could Launch The LG G Pad X 8.0 Next Month

While flagship smartphones are certainly the main focus for major manufacturers like LG right now, that doesn’t mean that devices such as tablets have been completely pushed to the wayside. In fact, LG currently offers the G Pad X, a tablet which comes in two different screen size versions including the G Pad X 10.1 and the G pad X 8.3. Now according to a recent report, LG is preparing to launch a G Pad X 8.0 model to be picked up by T-Mobile, and the rumor states that it will be arriving on T-Mobile store shelves within the next month, set for some time around the middle of May.

Based on the name, the G Pad X 8.0 will not be too much different from the 8.3 model, save for that tiny fraction in different of the screen sizes from 8.3-inches to 8-inches. There’s also a difference in screen resolution with the G Pad X 8.0 carrying a WUXGA screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels compared to the 1920 x 1080 on the G Pad X 8.3. It seems as though LG has decided to keep using the same processor as well, staying with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz processor in the G Pad X 8.0 and packing it with a slightly smaller battery at 4650mAh.

While tablets are generally not a consumer’s first choice for pictures, the T-Mobile-bound G Pad X 8.0 will reportedly be taking a step down from the 8MP camera on the rear to a 5MP camera sensor, yet it will be taking a step up from the 2MP on the front to the same 5MP sensor that’s said to be on the back, meaning that when users do decide to take pictures with the tablet, they’ll likely get the same quality images from either camera. There is no exact detail on the amount of RAM to be used within this model of the tablet, but it’s possible LG has stuck with the same amount as with the 8.3 model that comes with 2GB. There is no specific launch date confirmed nor is there a confirmed cost, but chances are it won’t be more than the currently available model.
