With the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge having been available for almost a month now, we’re starting to see some bug fixing updates appear for specific models. This is pretty common with new smartphones – so nothing to get upset about – as there are things that internal testing won’t find, but customers will when they buy the phone. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge over on T-Mobile are currently getting their bug fix update, as was first reported over on the Galaxy S7 subreddit.
Included in this update is fixing the stability of recording video, also battery life has been optimized, security for your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge has been improved. Along with tons of other bug fixes included to make both devices much faster and more bug free. Although it won’t be completely bug free. The update comes in at about 146MB in size, so it’s not a large update, but definitely not a small one. You can download it over 4G LTE, although be aware that it will use up a good amount of data. So if you are running low on your data allotment for the month, you may want to wait until you are on WiFi.
Currently this is just for the T-Mobile variant, there’s no word on when it’ll be available for the other carrier variants. But it shouldn’t be too far away. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have received rave reviews from just about everyone who has spent time with it. Battery life has been stellar as well, so it’s hard to imagine what these battery life improvements in this update may do to the device, but we shall find out once reports start rolling in about this update. From the early reports of this update, it seems that the device’s issues with touch screen responsiveness and scrolling have been improved. Definitely great news for anyone using either device.
If you are on T-Mobile with either the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge, you can head into the Settings > About Phone > System Updates and look for an update to your device to download. If it’s not immediately available, it should be pretty soon.
