Add GIFs to your emails with the Latest Yahoo Mail Update

While Yahoo Mail definitely isn’t the most popular mail service these days. With Gmail, and likely iCloud being at the top of the food chain, Yahoo Mail is still around and looking to get your business. Or is that, get into your business? Anyways, Yahoo Mail for Android got a nice little update today bringing it to version 5.4.3. One of the big features with this update is being able to search for and add animated GIFs to your email. Yahoo Mail is utilizing another popular property of theirs, Tumblr, for searching for GIFs.

On top of adding GIFs to Yahoo Mail in this version, Yahoo also added the ability to connect your Google Drive and Dropbox account. This way you are able to access everything in either account and you can attach them to your email. Whether that be pictures, documents, or other files. Making it easier to send documents to others. Finally, Yahoo Mail has some updated widgets, which now allow you to see your inbox from your home screen. This includes seeing the number of new messages, the latest emails you have in your inbox and the ability to quickly compose a new email. All of this, along with some bug fixes are what you will find in this new version of Yahoo Mail. It’s available on the Play Store right now, for your downloading pleasure.

Yahoo Mail may not be as robust as Gmail is right now, it’s definitely getting there. The team is always adding in some new features to Yahoo Mail, both on the web and in their apps. So it’s definitely not a forgotten product. It’s a product that can be very beneficial to Yahoo, as it has been to Google. Seeing as Yahoo is also an ad company, and they do serve ads in your inbox (not literally, but they are on the screen), and that is where a good chunk of their cash comes from. Although with Yahoo being up for sale, and companies like Verizon and Google eyeing the company. It’s unclear what may happen to Yahoo Mail in the future. But as for now, it’s staying put and getting GIFs.
