YU is an India-based company which has released a number of very affordable, and yet compelling smartphones. This company is owned by Micromax, the largest India-based smartphone manufacturer. YU has introduced a number of smartphones thus far, but only one high-end smartphone, the Yutopia. This handset has been announced quite some time ago, and interestingly enough, it’s currently not available in India for some reason. That being said, a phone called ‘YU6000 Yuphoria’ surfaced on GFXBench back in November, and a couple of days ago that very same phone appeared in a leak, but under a different name. The source claimed that the device will be introduced soon under the ‘YU Yureka Note’ naming. Well, that has actually happened quite recently, read on.
The company has launched this phablet in India quite recently, and it’s the largest device they’ve ever announced. The Yureka Note features a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 4,000mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 13-megapixel snapper is available on the back of the Yureka Note, and a 5-megapixel shooter can be found up front. The company has also included a dual set of speakers here with NXP smart PA technology. The Yureka Note comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is available here out of the box. The power / lock and volume rocker keys are placed on the right-hand side of this smartphone, and the speakers are on the bottom of the phone.
The YU Yureka Note sports an industrial design, which means its design is non-intrusive, and quite clean, it almost feels Nexus. Some people prefer such design, while other want more than this, it all depends. Anyhow, the YU Yureka Note is priced at Rs. 13,499 ($203) in India, and is already available for purchase from offline mobile stores in the country. The company says that this handset is going to deliver the ‘ultimate multimedia & gaming experience), we assume that the phone’s display and battery have something to do with that statement.
