YU Yureka Note Surfaces, It's Reportedly Available In India

YU is one of India’s most popular smartphone manufacturing companies. This is a very young company owned by Micromax, the largest India-based smartphone manufacturer out there. YU has introduced a number of smartphones thus far, and the vast majority of them ship with Cyanogen OS out of the box, not to mention that they’re quite affordable as well. YU has been releasing low and mid-range smartphone for quite some time before they introduced their first flagship, the YU Yutopia. The Yutopia is a fueled by the Snapdragon 810 SoC, sports 4GB of RAM and is made out of metal. This handset has been announced back in December, and interesting enough, it hasn’t been available for purchase for quite some time. The phone is still listed in India, but it is not available for some reason.

Anyhow, I don’t know if you recall, but back in November, a mysterious YU-branded handset surfaced on GFXBench, the YU6000 Yuphoria. Judging by its name, this was originally supposed to be a new version of YU Yuphoria, but it seems like the company has opted for a different naming. A device called YU Yureka Note surfaced online, well, its retail packaging has. This handset has the same specs as the YU6000 Yuphoria, though the display size is different. Anyhow, the YU Yureka Note has been spotted, and according to the box, its specs will be quite mid to high-end. The phone is said to sport a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, 3GB of RAM and a 4,000mAh battery. The device will be fueled by an octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, and 16GB of internal storage will be available here as well (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card). The 13-megapixel shooter will be available on the back of this phone, along with the LED flash, while an 8-megapixel snapper will be placed up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop is also listed on the box, though it is possible this device will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Now, what is even more interesting, is the information that this device is available in some offline stores in India. We don’t know how accurate that info is, but the source says that it costs Rs. 14,999. Either way, if this info is accurate, we do expect a confirmation from YU soon.
