ASUS’ next flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 3, is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming event that they have planned for May 30th which is next Monday, and since the announcement for the event, there have been a few more leaks in regards to the device’s design as well as potential hardware specifications for the phone, which is also thought to come in various different models just like its predecessor, the ZenFone 2, did last year. Today, a new leak that is thought to be of the device, this time for a GPU performance benchmark, reveals the specifications again for what may be the ZenFone 3.
According to today’s leak which was spotted over at GFX Bench, the ASUS ZenFone 3 will come equipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board, something that is likely not too surprising given that Android N is on the way and Marshmallow was launched last Fall officially. The phone also appears to have a 5.5-inch display that features Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU inside powering the device. That CPU power would be accompanied by the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics performance, which was the nature of this particular benchmark test, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space.
As of a couple of days ago one leak suggested that the ZenFone 3 might be coming with a 23MP rear-facing camera, although the benchmark listing from today seems to suggest that rear-facing camera will actually be 21MP while the camera on the front of the device sits at 8MP. Video recording capabilities will be up to 4K UHD resolution and the usual connectivity and sensors look to be inside, including Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, accelerometer, altimeter, pedometer and more. There’s still no confirmation on any of these specifications and it doesn’t appear that there has been a leak with details of the battery information yet, so there is still plenty that is unknown about the device. When and if the phone is revealed next Monday during ASUS’ event, all of the details about the device should be made public, potentially short of pricing and exact availability as those things are usually announced at a later date.
