Every year, Google holds its annual developer conference to announce, unveil, and discuss some of the biggest changes, hardware products and improvements revolving around its services like Android, Chrome, and more. While Google normally holds the I/O developer conference at the Moscone West building in San Francisco, this year they have opted to have the event at their headquarters in Mountain View. Beyond the location change, the conference is also being held outside which is another change of pace, as Moscone West is inside, spanning three whole floors with session rooms, code labs, and conference show booths filled with companies showing off their latest and greatest.
As the weather is expected to be nice and warm tomorrow, Google is preparing attendees with a “Festival Survival Kit” to keep them on the up and up during the entirety of the conference. As you can see from the image above, the survival kit includes a pair of sunglasses to keep the brightness out while still allowing people to see everything that’s going on, as well as a couple of pouches of water resistant, SPF 30+ sunscreen lotion (to prevent the burns), a water bottle for refreshment, and some multifunctional headwear that has an astounding number of ways that it can be worn.
Of course, attendees are also given a t-shirt which can be worn during the conference but is not required, and they get the most recent version of the Google Cardboard VR viewer. While there is no guarantee that Google will end up giving away any more exciting items, every year they tend to give away something in the form of a product, including Android Wear smartwatches, Chromecast units, a Chromebook, tablets, smartphones and more. Naturally, everyone is surely wondering what they will have to give away this year, and soon enough Google will probably end up spilling the beans on that, but for now they’re keeping quiet, understandably. While Google could have simply recommended that attendees come prepared on their own with necessary items to keep them protected from the sun and the heat, providing the survival kits to people at the conference is a nice gesture that will surely be remembered by those that are there, even if the rest of us forget about it not too far in the future.
