Huawei is the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturer in the world. This company is currently the third-largest smartphone manufacturing company in the world, and they have released a number of devices this year already. Huawei P9, P9 Plus and P9 Lite are quite probably the company’s best-known phones at the moment. The P9 and P9 Plus are Huawei’s new flagships, while the P9 Lite is a mid-range handset which has been introduced separately. That being said, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are already available in select markets, UK included. Well, it seems like their sibling is on the way as well, read on.
The company has just announced that the Huawei P9 Lite will be available in the UK through EE, O2, Vodafone and the Carphone Warehouse from the end of May. The company did not reveal any details regarding its pricing or anything of the sort, that info will probably going to come from the carriers / retailers when they officially introduce the device. “With the P9 smartphone family, Huawei are offering users a superior smartphone experience. The latest edition to the family, the P9 Lite, with its lower price point, is no exception to this. The phone has a premium and stylish look and feel, a high-resolution rear and front camera, as well as a powerful battery, making this a perfect companion for budding photographers on the go,” said Rhys Saunders, Sales Director at Huawei UK&I Consumer BG.
The Huawei P9 Lite features a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali-T880 MP2 GPU. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is placed on the back of the device, and an 8-megapixel unit (f/2.0 aperture) is available on the phone’s front side. The fingerprint scanner is available on the back of the Huawei P9 Lite, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it. The phone measures 146.8 x 72.6 x 7.5mm, while it weighs 147 grams. Huawei has introduced Black, White and Gold variants of this device, though we don’t know if all of them will be available in the UK.
