Motorola took the veil off the new Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus earlier this week, but while the hardware components used for crafting the new series has been revealed, not every detail regarding the global launch of the new Moto G4 series is known. Fortunately for those who may be wondering if the new series will be launched with Moto Maker support, Motorola confirmed today that prospective customers will indeed have the option of personalizing their purchase with a wide variety of colors, and more.
The Moto Maker website for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus is now live in Brazil, allowing customers to personalize their smartphone in great detail before they place an online order. The Moto Maker initiative was first released in 2014 and allowed customers in some regions to personalize their new Motorola smartphones with custom colors, engravings, materials and so on. Moto Maker represents the company’s efforts to stand apart from its competitors, and the service has been refreshed each year along with every new series of Motorola Moto X / Moto G smartphones. Fortunately for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus enthusiasts in Brazil (and presumably elsewhere, soon), the Moto Maker website is now available in the said region. Moto Maker lets buyers choose individual colors for the front and rear panels, one of five colors for the element surrounding the camera, and also allows customers to engrave custom text on the back panel as well as on the boot screen. However, it’s worth noting that the Moto G4 Plus is the only model offering a second color choice for the front panel. In contrast, the Moto G4 is limited to black only.
Aside from the variety of customization options, other reasons to consider the new Moto G4 and / or Moto G4 Plus as a relatively budget-friendly daily driver lie in the hardware components themselves. The duo is equipped with Full HD displays, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core CPU each, 2 / 3 / 4 GB of RAM depending on variant, and 16 / 32 / 64 GB of storage. In addition, the Moto G4 Plus features a 16-megapixel camera which – at least according to early reviews – seems to have enough power to compete even with smartphones sitting in the high-end market range.
