OnePlus has introduced two really compelling smartphones last year, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. The former is the company’s 2nd-gen flagship smartphone, while the latter one is their first ever mid-range offering. That being said, OnePlus 3 has been leaking out like crazy, and the phone has even been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. Latest info (from the company’s representative) suggested that the OnePlus 3 will be announced on June 14th, but it seems like it will arrive one day later than that, the company has just officially confirmed the OnePlus 3 release date, read on.
This Chinese company has shared a OnePlus 3 teaser image on their official Weibo (Chinese social network) account, and along with that, they’ve confirmed that the OnePlus 3 will be announced on June 15th. The device will be unveiled in the Shenzhen Universiade Center, and it will be available for sale on June 16th. The event will start at 10AM local time, for those of you who are interested. There you have it, the OnePlus 3 is right around the corner, it’s only two weeks away, and we know pretty much everything as far as the phone’s design and specs are concerned. TENAA not only revealed its specs, but also confirmed that the design shared by many leaked renders is spot on. Speaking of which, let’s see what OnePlus 3 has to offer, shall we.
The OnePlus 3 will feature a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel camera can be found on the back of the OnePlus 3, and an 8-megapixel shooter is available up front. The 3,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and it won’t be removable it seems. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come out of the box with OnePlus’ Oxygen OS (Hydrogen OS in China), while the phone itself will be made out of metal. The fingerprint scanner will be located below the display, and we’re probably looking at a capacitive home button, similar to the one the company implemented in the OnePlus 2.
