OPPO F1 Plus FC Barcelona Edition Is Now Official

Real Madrid and Barcelona are amongst the most popular football (soccer) teams in the world. Real Madrid managed to grab the UEFA Champions League crown a couple of days ago, while Barcelona did the same last year. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo are quite probably the two most popular (and best) footballers on the planet, and both of them signed marketing contracts with China-based smartphone manufacturers recently. Lionel Messi was scooped up by Huawei, while Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract with ZTE’s Nubia.

That being said, some of you probably know that OPPO released the FC Barcelona-branded OPPO R7 handset last year. Well, a Barcelona-branded OPPO R9 surfaced quite recently, and it was just a matter of time before OPPO releases the phone. That has happened earlier today, the company has introduced the FC Barcelona edition of their OPPO F1 Plus handset, which is essentially identical to the OPPO R9, but is called differently in select markets. The device is officially called ‘OPPO F1 Plus FC Barcelona Edition’, and it features a blue-and-red color scheme, and an 18K gold-plated club insignia on the back of the device. The FC Barcelona-themed UI is also a part of this offering, and OPPO has also released an exclusive case sporting laser-printed signatures from Barcelona’s top players, namely: Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitić.

“The F1 Plus is all about snappiness, style and speed, so there’s no better partner for it than the phenomenal FC Barcelona. We’re proud to bring users one of our most eye-catching devices ever, while paying tribute to the world’s greatest football club,” said Sky Li, OPPO Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business. The OPPO F1 Plus FC Barcelona Edition sports identical specifications to the regular OPPO F1 Plus model, it comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor by MediaTek, and it ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with OPPO’s Color OS 3.0 on top of it. In case you’d like to take a closer look at its specs, you can do so by clicking here. This smartphone will become available in China, Singapore and Indonesia (+a couple more markets) in mid-June, and OPPO said that its price will vary depending on the market, so stay tuned for that, we probably won’t know its price before it becomes available.
