Sony Releases Their New Line Of Google Cast Speakers

Google Cast is being integrated into more consumer electronics from TVs to home audio, and Sony is among the companies developing such products for the market. Today Sony has announced that their new line of Google Cast-ready home audio equipment is available for sale, which includes two speakers and a sound bar that have Google Cast technology built into them for a more seamless and simple listening experience for streaming music into various parts of the home. Both the speakers as well as the soundbar were unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show back in January with Sony having stated that they would become available to buy in the coming months.

The soundbar, which retails for $799, is already available to purchase through online retailers and will be available through merchants like Amazon and Best Buy, but Sony mentions that it will also be available pick up in stores physically later in the month, on May 15th, although they don’t mention specifically which retail stores will be carrying them. Alongside Google Cast, the HT-NT5 Soundbar also supports 4K and High Dynamic Range content.

In addition to the soundbar, Sony also has two Bluetooth-enabled wireless speakers that carry the Google Cast technology inside that are also now available for purchase online. The SRS-ZR7 and the SRS-ZR5 speakers both support WiFi as well as the Bluetooth and Google Cast, and will end up retailing for $299 and $199 respectively. Just like with the soundbar, both speakers ca be picked up online now and will hit retail store shelves in the middle of the month on May 15th. To complete the setup Sony has released the STR-DN1070 Hi-Res WiFi audio receiver which retails for $599 is also available through online sales with an on-shelf launch on May 15th, and it also supports Google Cast technology. With speakers in the home that have Google Cast integrated, consumers can easily stream music from their mobile devices directly to the speakers from their favorite apps like Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, and any other music app which supports Google Cast technology. Although the audio equipment isn’t cheap, Sony is known for their quality in Hi-Res audio so the sound experience is sure to be pretty good.
