Google Cast started out as the technology that powered Google’s popular Chromecast HDMI streaming dongle, but over the year’s since its release, it’s been gradually making its way into more and more devices and products. You can now find Google Cast in Android TV set-top boxes as well as speakers and even TVs from various manufacturers, including Vizio who began including the technology in their P-Series television sets as of last month. As of today, Vizio is now expanding their lineup of Google Cast-ready TVs by integrating it into their lower-end models as well, which includes both the new E-Series and new M-Series TVs.
For consumers looking to upgrade to a new TV from Vizio without breaking the bank, both the new M-Series and E-Series models will come in at a noticeably lower price than that of the P-Series units launched last month, starting with the E-Series models that begin at just $209.99 for a 32-inch 1080p display. Those who don’t mind spending a little bit more for a larger screen can spring for the 43-inch model that also steps up the resolution to 4K, and the price is only $469.99. While the E-Series TV sets will come with Google Cast built-in, they do not come with the Vizio SmartCast tablet remote powered by Android which is going to be part of the experience and the appeal for some consumers.
To grab the Vizio SmartCast tablet remote consumers will need to upgrade to the M-Series TV sets which start at $849.99, almost double that of the 43-inch E-Series model. The new starting M-Series TV comes with a 50-inch display and it sports a 4K resolution as well as high dynamic range, which is perfect for taking advantage of Netflix’ new HDR content that includes the original series Marco Polo and soon to be Daredevil. Vizio is already carrying these new 2016 models with Google Cast built-in, although all of the M-Series models seem to be out of stock on their own website which could suggest that they aren’t yet available. Consumers can choose from quite a bit of the E-Series models though if they don’t mind forfeiting the remote.
