While LG, Samsung and even China’s Xiaomi made big splashes during Mobile World Congress earlier on in the year, Sony’s announcements were a little more reserved. Instead of the big Xperia Z6 reveal that many were hoping for, Sony unveiled the Xperia X and Xperia XA, two devices that offered some pretty decent specs in compact packages with all the hallmark Sony features, such as 23-megapixel camera and super-fast autofocus (in the case of the Xperia X and Xperia X Performance). While LG and Samsung have already released the LG G5 and Galaxy S7 lines to some decent success, Sony has taken a little longer to get their newest line of devices to market. To promote these new devices, Sony has released some new videos showing off the new Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance, highlighting some key features in the below short videos.
Starting with the Xperia X, which is a 5.0-inch Full HD device with a Snapdragon 650 running the show, Sony have put together videos showing off the design of the device as well as the camera and the promise of 2-day long battery life as well.

Meanwhile, the Xperia XA, the lesser of the three devices and the most budget-friendly of the three, gets the same sort of treatment with some videos showcasing its design and such. On the inside of the Xperia XA, things aren’t quite as exciting, with a MediaTek CPU (a Helio P10 for the curious out there) a 5.0-inch 720p display and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. While the insides aren’t quite as fancy, the Xperia XA has a different design to the others, which should please those looking for something with a different look compared to previous Xperia devices.

Last, but most certainly not least, the Xperia X Performance is shown off in just the one new video as well. This differs from the above two devices thanks to the Snapdragon 820 under-the-hood with 3GB of RAM and other features such as a fingerprint sensor, to boot. There’s a lot on offer here, and considering its 5.0-inch Full HD display, it could be considered a sort of Xperia Z compact, especially given the sizes that some new smartphones are launching at these days.
