Back in February images leaked of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A with a 7-inch display. These were images of the 2016 model as Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A before. Today, new image leaks have appeared for the Galaxy Tab A again, although these leaked images are renders (not live images) and are of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 model from this year instead of the 7-inch device. Alongside all of the leaked renders are specifications for the device thanks to a leaked image of a 3D graphics test of the tablet, which display details like the version of Android running on the device as well as the hardware like processor, RAM, storage space and more.
According to the leaks, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will end up coming in two colors, both White, and Black. The images depict the tablet to be a rather thin looking device, being listed at 8.2mm thin, which is to be expected of many tablets these days as thin seems to be in when it comes to mobile devices, and has been the increasing trend for the last few years or more. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 features a 10.1-inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution with at least five-finger gesture support according to the graphics test screenshot. It’s also seemingly powered by the Samsung Exynos 7870 octa-core CPU with an ARM Mali-T830 GPU for the graphics processing.
The tablet should be coming with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage for onboard memory, and it should come with an option to expand the storage via a microSD card. On the back, it features an 8MP camera with LED flash, and on the front it carries a 2MP camera. It’s also listed as running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which means it will likely ship with this version of the Android software out of the box when Samsung launches the device. It’s also powered by a 7,300mAh battery which should be plenty to keep it going throughout the day, especially considering all the battery improvements that come with Marshmallow software and Samsung’s latest version of the TouchWiz UI. The tablet is said to be coming in both WiFi and LTE models, with the LTE model rumored to be launching within the next week in Germany and perhaps the rest of Europe at a price of €349, while the WiFi-only model is said to be launching a little closer to June for a slightly less €289. There are no prices or availability details for the U.S. or other regions just yet.
