Quite a few things have happened in this past week in relation to all things Android, and if you happened to miss anything we’ll be going over the top stories in a brief summary here. Perhaps the biggest event over the last week is Google’s victory over Oracle in their case over the use of Java code within Android. This may not be the most exciting story if you’re not someone who works with or finds java code fascinating, but make no mistake, this is a huge win as Google and Oracle have been in and out of court over this matter for years, and while not potentially over as the case could always pop back up, it could have a big impact on things regarding fair use laws.
Also in the past week, some new leaked images popped up of what are believed to be the new Moto Z DROID Edition phones, and alongside those a leaked image surfaced for what are right now being referred to as the MotoMods snap on accessories for the new Moto Z device, which can be used to add some functionality, like a pico projector, to the phone. Samsung also showed off a new rollable display demo at Display Week 2016, and they officially unveiled the new batman-themed Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition. Polaroid unveiled a line of affordable 4K Google Cast-enabled TVs, and Amazon unleashed a web-based version of the Echo speaker that lets you simulate the usability to test it out.
