Virgin Mobile & Koodo offer $60 BYOP Promos

Wireless carriers are turning up the enthusiasm as the competition to grab your business heats up.  We are not just talking about the BIG Three carriers – Rogers, Telus, and Bell – even the smaller, more regional carriers that do a great job for many customers are joining the race for customers. As these smaller carriers jockey for your business, Virgin Mobile and Koodo are offering their latest Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) promos, although the Virgin Mobile looks like it ends today.  If you own an unlocked phone, you might want to try one of these specials that are offering a $60 BYOP plan with 2GB of data – and that is double what you usually receive.

Virgin Mobile has two ‘Limited Time Offers’ – One is $45 per month and gives you 500 minutes and 1GB of data and the second offer is for $60 per month, and it provides unlimited minutes and 2GB of data.  These are both listed as expiring today, although they may extend them depending on the number of people that take advantage of them. All of Virgin Mobile plans include – unlimited weekends and evenings (5 pm – 7 am), Canada-wide calling, unlimited worldwide text messaging from Canada, unlimited picture messaging to Canada and the US, MyPeeps, voicemail, and call display. Virgin Mobile believes they can service the prepaid buyer better than the bigger carriers can, and maybe they really do.  They offer many member benefits when you sign up with them – a shot at VIP access to music events, exclusives offers of all types such as movies, travel, or beauty and fashion deals, and “one-of-a-kind experiences.”  Their customer service reps are big on “great service, not lip service.”

Koodo, who upped their refer-a-friend promo earlier this month, is offering plans running from $30 per month to $90 per month for BYOP customers.  All plans include – unlimited evenings (5 pm) and weekends, unlimited messaging (text and picture), and call display, voicemail, call waiting, conference calling and unlimited Canada-wide family calling.  The $60 per month plan at Koodo gives you the above features and allows you 1000 minutes, 2GB of Shock-Free data, and unlimited messaging.  Koodo claims to have Canada’s largest 4G LTE network – after all, they are owned by Telus.  There are no expiration dates on Koodo’s plans, but most likely, they will be changing them up throughout the summer.
