For every swath of loyal customers who love their carrier and can’t find many flaws with their network and service, it seems there are at least a few customer service horror stories or people who are tolerating subpar coverage in their area. Some would say that wireless carriers don’t seem all that grateful to have their customers. Since customers are their revenue stream, each signup and every loyal customer is obviously appreciated, but earlier this month, T-Mobile set out to make sure customers knew how loved they were with their T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion and the tagline for it, “Get thanked”. On Thursday, AT&T announced an initiative to allow their customers to “get thanked”, too.
The inaugural offer for AT&T Thanks is a free ticket to a movie on Tuesday, redeemable for any standard 2D movie showing this coming Tuesday at participating theaters. The deal is called Ticket Twosdays, and allows a subscriber to get one ticket for themselves and take a friend. For now, only AMC Theaters and Regal Entertainment Group are participating, though AT&T does say that they cannot guarantee ticket availability and that the deal is only on while supplies last. While this does not rule out the possibility of other theaters jumping on board in the near future, it does paint such an occurrence in an unlikely light.
Movie tickets are not the only thing on offer, however; AT&T Thanks recipients in the near future will also have access to presale tickets from LiveNation, able to get tickets for upcoming shows before anybody else. This gives them the best pickings, whether they want early access to VIP packages, a guarantee of the best seats, or they want to thrift out and grab the cheapest seats before the inevitably sell out in short order. AT&T has a disclaimer attached to this one as well, of course; supplies on the pre-sale tickets are said to be limited, with no guarantee of availability. Of course, this is how concert tickets normally work, though it could also indicate a limited-scope deal with LiveNation to provide only a small number of pre-sale tickets. AT&T also did not specify if early ticket buyers through AT&T Thanks would receive a discount of any sort. In any case, if you’re an AT&T customer and happen to be a music or movie buff, or even both, this news should make you feel a bit more thanked by your carrier.
