Lenovo’s Tech World 2016 conference is still ongoing, but the initial event which held all of the announcements is finished and there was plenty shown off at the event. As expected, Lenovo unveiled the all new new Moto Z line up of devices, and alongside it the rumored Moto Mods accessories which help to “transform mobile” as Lenovo was suggesting would be the outcome after announcing these modular products. With the Moto Z, the Moto Mods are a way for the consumer to augment their device with various different snap on cases that can be affixed to the back of the device and give it a new functionality such as a projector or enhanced audio with powerful speakers that surpass those of the onboard unit.
We’ve been able to get some hands on time with the Moto Mods that Lenovo is showing off at the conference today, and this gives a more up close and personal look at the accessories that can change the way your device looks, feels, and operates. Included in the gallery below are a myriad of different available mods that Lenovo had to show off, including a case mod from Incipio that doubles as a powerpack for extending the battery life. In total, the Incipio mod gives an additional 22 hours of battery life to the phone which should come in handy if you’re a heavy user of your device.
Pictured above is the JBL speaker mod which not only augments the Moto Z with more powerful audio for virtually anything you could want better audio for, but it also has a kickstand built-in to make viewing easier if you’re watching videos. Lenovo also showcased the projector mod, called the Insta-Share Projector mod, which enables the Moto Z to put out a projector image for videos and pictures, making it perfect for sharing a video you found on YouTube or a movie you want to watch with a friend or loved one. Lastly, Lenovo also showcased the standard mods which simply give the phone a different styled back which include wood, ballistic nylon, and leather. If all you’re seeking is a personalized style on the back, these are the mods you’d want to go for.
