Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has been around for quite some time now. Honor’s devices are quite popular in Europe and some other regions, and the company has managed to sell quite a few devices last year. The Honor 5C and Honor V8 were introduced earlier this year, and the company will announce a new Honor smartphone really soon. They’ve already released the first official teaser for the device, and judging by it, we’ll get to see the Honor 8 hit the stage really soon. The Honor 7 was one of Honor’s best selling phones in 2015, and the Honor 8 is expected to do even better this year.
That being said, a recent rumor said that the phone will be announced on July 5th, and go on sale on July 12th, but that info was never confirmed by the company. We’ve seen a couple of Honor 8 spec leaks, but nothing official yet. Well, the device was just certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), which more or less confirms the device’s specifications and its design. According to TENAA, the Honor 8 will sport a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The phone will be fueled an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, so it seems like we’re looking at the Kirin 950 here. Two 12-megapixel cameras will be placed on the back of the Honor 8, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be placed up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this smartphone, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin. The 2,900mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and it will not be removable. The device will offer 4G LTE connectivity, of course, and the phone will measure 145.5 x 71 x 7.45mm. The phone will weight 153 grams, and it will be available in both White and Black color variants. As you can see in the gallery down below, the black variant will sport a black front side, while the white variant will ship with the white front, but the back side will be white on both of these models, which is quite interesting.
There are a couple of images in the gallery down below which show off the device from various angles. The dual camera setup is placed on the back, and so is the fingerprint scanner. The Honor branding will, once again, going to be placed below the display.
