International Galaxy A9 Pro Is Now Unofficially Available

The ‘Galaxy A’ line of smartphones represents Samsung’s mid-range line of devices. This Korea-based tech giant had introduced a number of ‘Galaxy A’ devices, including the Galaxy A3, A5, A7 and A9. The Galaxy A9 was introduced back in December last year, and the Galaxy A9 Pro followed in March this year. Now, these two devices are almost identical, the ‘Pro’ variant ships with 4GB of RAM on the inside though, while the regular Galaxy A9 variant comes with 3GB of RAM.

That being said, the Galaxy A9 Pro was announced in China, and quite a few people were wondering whether the phone will arrive to the U.S. / Europe at all. Luckily for those who are interested in purchasing this smartphone, its arrival to Europe and the U.S. was more or less confirmed recently when the phone got certified by both the FCC and Bluetooth SIG. It was just a matter of time before this device gets announced, and it just did, sort of. The phone is now available for purchase in Malaysia, which kinds of represents the availability of the international version of the phone. The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro costs RM 1,999 ($500) in Malaysia, and it is available for purchase from Senheng, a consumer electronics retailer. The phone is currently available for purchase only in retail stores (offline), though it is interesting that the device is still not listed on Samsung Malaysia’s official website.

The international variant of the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro sports the very same specs as the Chinese model. The device features a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this phablet, along with the Adreno 510 GPU. The 16-megapixel OIS camera is placed on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel shooter can be found up front. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this device, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Samsung’s custom UI. The 5,000mAh battery is included here, and the device is made out of metal. The fingerprint scanner is built into the physical home button, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 protection is placed on top of the phone’s display.
